Salutations all. Headed back to the Land of the Rising Sun tomorrow mornign for another 3 month stint flying a Glider Tug.

May not be back on the site for a few days, until one gets organised!!

Good morning all, clear blue skies, with a strange yellow thing up there. Currently 12C, forecast max 22C. Planning on a short walk today.

Bon Voyage and safe flying Pinky, I trust you have found a supplier of Barossa Red in Japan.

Don't overdo yourself, Hydromet.

You'll feel all the better for the sun and warmth, anyway.

Thanks Karearea, I'm planning on just walking a couple of hundred metres down the street. I have no intention of being more than a very short dash from a loo.

Gazing southward from my kitchen window earlier: observed orange rose-hips on the climbing rose against the fence; also, in the distance, a Red Oak (Quercus rubra) half-red, half-green still; and, from its bare-branched profile, an Ash tree, what's the name? Fraxinus from memory.

Min. smorning 0.2°C, currently 15.4°C, the predicted max.

Blue dome, bright sun. :-bd

I finally had to bite the bullet and "officially" turn on the A/C today. ^!
Low OATs have been enough to keep indoor temps bearable by opening doors and windows overnight and closing them when daytime OATs exceeded indoor temps. Only two evenings in the past month have needed a few hours of A/C to get by. #-o
Unfortunately, the forecast will not allow this practice any further for the next six months or so. :((
Not looking forward to the tripling of the electric bill. [-X

Morning folks. Sunny. Cool start. Surrounded by thatching grass. Just a couple more days on the house then they start on the library. That will not be so disruptive. They are very quiet though and no jungle bunny music.

A question for Woody, we will pick up our son from T5 early afternoon next Thursday, is there a somewhere you could recommend for lunch within easy striking distance of the short stay car park? He will already have eaten so it's just for us to eat and relax after driving from Devon, he'll phone us once he has landed and we'll continue on to Yorkshire.

Not a lot of choice on the arrivals level, just a Costa Coffee and a couple of Cafe Nero, maybe try the M&S for more choice, but not many seats to relax, departures level there’s a Pret a Mortgage and a pub/ bar , nothing of any substance in the immediate area either I’m afraid :-q
