Blasts from the past!
How on earth did I miss out on this site for so long?
I note numerous "old hands" from TOP, & look forward to catching up.
Probably like most here, I disagreed with his Lordship Danny, raising merry hell when he was selling off descriptive text (to link to screen name) when the site had been sold to the Yanks. A pyrrhic victory, but worth every effort.
My background - joined the RAF in Jan 1976 as an AEOP, went to Nimrods at "sunny South," namely St Mawgan. Joined the pilot set, flew bombers, tankers & transport. Left in Sep 1995 from Lyneham, went to fly commercially for HeavyLift, initially on the Shorts Belfast, then the Airbus A300B4. They went bust, so was lucky enough to get a job in VIP biz aviation, nearly 18 yrs ago. Can get posh tea now, rather than the various cup-melting concoctions made up by FEs & ALMs.

Welcome to Ops-Norm Mike. Managed to get a good crowd here with minimal drama and strife. Lots of Vulcan drivers here, so you will be in good company. Lots of drivers, but few of us fixers.

And it's a welcome from me (representing those of us from 'other' professions not linked to flying, fixing or otherwise tinkering with things that fly).

Hello Mike from a driver and a driver's ATCO in Botswana. This is a neat unit.

Re: Blasts from the past!
Looking in my log book I discovered I had flown with Mike J on 27 April 1985. To save him looking, it was the short tanker sortie out of Ascension.

Cor blimey! Can't cross-check at the moment, my log book is about 4000 miles away (on our hols), & Mrs J is monitoring my internet use like a hawk.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 2:52 pmLooking in my log book I discovered I had flown with Mike J on 27 April 1985.
