Display pilot killed in New Mexico
A very experienced pilot.

As Juan says. It is only a matter of time. Mark Hanna was a friend of mine. Son of Ray. He killed himself at an airshow.

Not sure if he was landing or doing a low fly past but yes Bf 109g. Tragically he wasn't killed instantly but died of burns.

I think it was classed as 'manoeuvering'. I recall Ray made it to Mark's hospital bed before he died. A sad loss.

He was a very cool guy but he and his father did push the limits sometimes.

I knew one of the aviation brokers who insured Ray and he would not have agreed.

A slight digression, but absolutely loved the clip of Ray Hanna flying a Spitfire right over the head of a TV presenter, scaring the bejaysus out of him!
I have it saved on my computer somewhere....
