Sadly, very high. The Conservatives dumped their leader (again) and with a true Right party (PPC) splitting the conservative (small c) vote they have no chance. Add to that a weak socialist party (NDP) and the LIE-berals win again.

I read somewhere that NZ truckers are running a convoy in solidarity with their Canadian brethren and for their own FEEDOM. Lefty heads must be exploding. I love it!

The battle lines are being drawn. Trudeau has, at least at present, ruled out use of the military. The use of adverse publicity by the authorities is wearing thin as a result of the amount of genuine movie footage of the event. Trudeau is carefully avoiding any direct contact with the convoy representatives and is leaving virtually all contact to the police and all opinions to the Mayor of Ottawa. There are noisy politicians in the background but that is all it is, noise. Most politicians probably want to see which way the wind blows before backing a horse if I may mix the metaphors.

The Ottawa police have declared they are undermanned for this type of protest so they are being reinforced by the RCMP. The sight of police running around in full combat gear and carrying riot guns around groups of totally relaxed and disinterested truckers is totally comical you can sense how ludicrous they feel.

The apparent mode of attack by the city authorities is to task the police to carry out nuisance activities to try to wear the protestors down. The police are preventing delivery of fuel to the trucks suggesting that it is highly flammable and dangerous petrol when it is, of course, regular relatively harmless diesel fuel. It is going to be amusing when the truckers are finally told that they must drive their trucks out of the downtown area and the truckers say "Sorry, no fuel".

The trucks are being inspected to discover any infraction that justifies a ticket and the truckers are being accused of as many violations of various city ordinances as the police can think of such as shutting down a food truck as illegal. Meanwhile, GoFundMe tried to shut down the multi-million dollar donation account that was established for the truckers with the intent of returning the money to the donors or giving it to deserving charities. It is worth noting that GoFundMe arranged donations to Black Lives Matter during the riots, including their own corporate donations, but the truckers are somehow more evil than BLM. Donations to the truckers are therefore being handled by another organisation. There are several US supporter groups ready to charge GoFundMe with criminal misuse of the donated funds.

Meanwhile the word is going out to the truckers to remain calm and avoid any provocation. The organisers have engaged some high-powered civil rights attorneys to deal with the authorities, you can do quite a lot with a 10,000,000 dollar support fund.

Several other smaller trucker groups are forming in other parts of Canada to replicate the protest in other cities. This should be interesting since, while the main protest is out-of-state truckers versus Ottawa police, in the other communities it will be local truckers facing local police, a very different dynamic.

At some point the carriage of food products across the US/Canadian border will reduce or stop. It is a surprising fact that the US imports more goods and food products from Canada than it does from Mexico. At some point it may be that stores in the US may have empty shelves due to lack of Canadian produce in addition to the shortages caused by the inability to unload ships at US west coast ports. Just what Joe Biden needs.

HeHo, funny how the World turns, here we are with governments intent on crushing the freedom their own citizens but willing to risk nuclear war to "defend the freedoms" of a eastern European country that most of them could not even find on a map.
