Today's news that the French socialist party has elected a hard line left winger (Benoit Hamon) as its presidential candidate is excellent news for the right as surely even the French will realise that his type of socialism is unrealistic and unsustainable.

I see Marine Le Pen taking another step towards the Elysee Palace or wherever it is that the French President does his or her thing. She would also (I think) be the first female president of France although I think it has had a female prime minister.
