Actually, I'd compromise. If the law says conviction of a crime calls for a 10 year sentence, I'd like to see the convicted criminal spend 10 years in prison, not 10 months. And I'd like to see prisons less cushy, with a bed, basin, and meals fed through a slot. Keep the perp alive is all it's entitled to.
