One and the same, all of us AA, and we are all watching you and laughing...

It's still to early to tell, but I think it's not a bad bet to take favorable odds and bet on Trump. I think he might be able to pull it off. He's today's Andrew Jackson.

:ymdevil: On a tangential note, if Trump gets in, how will the FBI or whoever runs the country really, bump him off before he does any real harm? An apparent "heart attack" as a result of activity with the lovely Melania (whatever her name is) perhaps? Any other suggestions?

I think most FBI operatives are pro Trump. That they haven't offed Obama or Hillary and their operatives should answer your question, Octopussy2.

And will the non committed just not vote, or vote for the most harmless candidate? :-\

My answer, which will not be appreciated by many in the US, is that it illustrates the contempt that those who really rule America* have for the electorate.

*not politicians

I am afraid for my entire life my view has been as portrayed in Dirk's graffiti above. I am aware of the drawbacks and perils of not voting, but I believe that voting for rotten corrupt self-serving lying scumbags is worse.
I have only ever voted once in my life, and that was for Brexit, which was somewhat different as it was a vote for an action, rather than for a politician or party.

Frostbite:

I couldn't agree more... Over here we call it "the establishment" as epitomized by Clinton and the 17 numbnuts that lost to Trump in the primary.

Sanders and Trump are the "anti-establishment"... Or at least as close as we've had for many a decade...

As Phillip K Dick wrote "Strange how paranoia can link up with reality now and then.”

He was one mighty fine Dick, eh?

So as we come down to the wire, I see the contest tightening into a nail-biter that can be driven at the last minute to victory by the most adept machine, which I'm afraid is Hillary's combine of the Democrat Party, Hollywood, the overwhelming majority of the news media, and the complicity of America's uninformed. As a white, aging male who had a job all his life, paid taxes, and never took a dime of public assistance, I realize that I've been an unforgivable sinner, a deplorable, and don't deserve even a voice to advocate for my lot as that would be racist, xenophobic, and cause for the worst the LGBTQ community, our ISIS refugee guests, MS-13, the women who vote for Hillary because she's a woman, and the rest of the Democrats could throw at me.

I'm unabashedly for Trump, but it is truly an uphill climb, and I'm readying myself for disappointment in my countrymen and the millions of women who would vote for Hillary for no other reason than that she's a woman. If the results come in for Hillary, I'm cashing out and heading for Mexico, like the huge companies that have bolstered the US economy for generations. If Trump pulls it off, I'll stick around and try to help.

Dunno why you'd wanna help out Ben whether the Trumpmeister wins the White House or not. Seems to me you've got a good thing going in Mexico anyway.

You'd never have to worry about US politics ever again, just as I haven't given a hoot about Oz politics for almost 28 years - and no filthy socialist taxes forced to pay at gunpoint.

A very large percentage of my American collegues have taken up Panamanian and Ecuadorian citizenship and are a lot better off for it.

This whole debacle makes a mockery of the country that thinks itself so 'great'.

In the old days, this would have been the script for an episode of the Goon Show. How anyone claiming to be 'American' can feel proud I do not know.

I have come across a quote from George Orwell which is the truth:

"The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it."

I listened to an American that I had not heard of before on R4 yesterday, apparently he is of the opinion, having closely worked with Donald Trump over a number of years, that he has the ability and gravitas of a remedial three year old with learning difficulties and severe behavioural problems.

Whilst we may wonder at how the US have got to this position, we should really be reflecting on our own leader of the opposition, for all his perceived faults at least Mr Trump would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons at the slightest provocation, that is more than Corbin would.

Well, that's it then... The election has been decided based upon the opinion of a random yet strangely anonymous person on Radio 4 in the UK. We can all rest easy now...

Of course, such an opinion completely over-rides the several Secret Service agents that have all stated that saying "good Morning" to Hillary can get you a short, sharp "**** off" amongst other things... It probably over-rides the fact that several people that have worked closely with Hillary in the past all refer to the absolute horrific temper tantrums Hillary has right up to and including throwing things around the room.

Clearly she's a perfect candidate to have her finger hovering over the nuclear trigger... @-) @-) @-)

To add to the above, I suspect that the comments about Donald Fart may have their origin in jealousy over his relative successes in life.
