Initially I had it down as derring-do, but was informed by a member that that was incorrect. So I changed it.

According to that wonderful institution, the Oxford Englsih Dictionary...
derring-do
(noun) a dated or humorous action displaying heroic courage.
ORIGIN C16: from Middle English dorryng do 'daring to do', misprinted as derrynge do and misinterpreted by Spenser; later popularized by Sir Walter Scott.

Yeh its 'derring do'. I looked it up yonks ago when Pilate said the
same (dairwwing-do) in Life of Bwian as I'd never heard it before.
