Helicopter's electromagnetic survey gear hits 11kv power line - Aberdeenshire

This happened about 20 miles from us this morning. The incident occurs in the first few seconds of the video when the survey gear strikes the 11kv pole and then there are a couple of arcing flashes as the power line hits the ground. A lucky guy to get away with that!

Looked like a big array for a small helicopter.

Very lucky, as you say C16. It looks a bit unstable, though probably after a sudden application of power by the pilot?

Worked with a survey team with a 20ft cylindrical boom on a 120 ft strop, the flying was c/o at 200ft using a Rad alt. The survey was on an area littered
with hills with lots of trees, consequently, pilots new to the contract managed to crash the boom into a hill by following the Rad ALt but forgetting the
boom was some way behind the helicopter due to the length of the strop, they soon learned to start climbing before reaching the hill.
