RAF Firebirds fly again.....really?

#1 Post by CharlieOneSix »

Once again our newspaper for the whole of North East Scotland - the Press & Journal - today showed its ignorance of aviation matters. It has just been announced that the Firebirds Display Team will display at Scottish Week in Peterhead this month. So the P&J do a quick Google search on them and the second result is for the RAF Firebirds Display Team. They obviously don't read any further to see that the article relates to the RAF EE Lightning Firebirds Display Team of 1963/64.

Today's Firebirds are a Polish team who fly three Extra 330SC aircraft!

Well it IS the P&J! What else would you expect from the journal that reported the sinking of the Titanic as "Aberdeen man lost at sea".
