RyanAir - moneybags!!

Constructive dismissal case based on what appears to be a breach of aviation security and possibly financial irregularities.

Dispute seems partly to be whether documents existed or not.

Indeed, and also whether Ryanair had a procedure in place for this carriage.

If it was 'ad hoc' " 'ere's some bags of dosh, Skipper, drop 'em off in Dublin", not good.

If it was documented and notified to Captains as an established procedure (ie in the Ops Manual), with prescribed security processes, OK.

More to drop out of this sack, I feel.

And what if it was over $10,000 or the similar limit in the UK, Rest of the world.

Why would you not give it to a bank and get them to count it and then do a Telegraphic Transfer
as modern banking is done ?

As presented, it appears remarkably gash, and I wonder where the responsibility would lie if a few bundles of drinking vouchers didn't 'arrive' in the hands of the Irish gnome?

I think that is why it is now put in the cockpit, a few bags did go missing from the hold !

Either way, transferring 69 bags across a network leaves everyone open to everything,
even false accusations.

When banks are all over the place.

Many years ago, I used to do security for a big retail store in Australia. At Xmas time the tills over flowed with cash so the head of security, a big beefy ex SAS guy grabbed me and we went around with an over the shoulder bag emptying the tills into said bag
I carried the bag, he emptied the tills and stuffed it through the small opening we left in the bag.
Of course we tried to be unobtrusive as possible.

We then handed the nag to the accounting office upstairs to count etc. After a short while we realised this was crazy and asked how much had been in a particularly full bag. 3/4 million Aus dollars in unaccounted for notes !

We suggested to Management that they put in place a better procedure and security immediately, which they did.
Never had so much money on me again.

It wasn't just us, any number of staff members could have cleaned the till out and no one would have
been any wiser or vice versa, someone could have said made false accusations.

Forget coins, it doesn't take long to document notes, even if slightly off, better than no documentation.
