The Australia Portugal game is interesting in that it gives Australia a sliver of a chance of kind of "faking it" into the quarter finals...

The time noted above is from an Australian point of view (the match is on today at 16:45 hrs (UK summer time).
Fiji's 17-12 win over Georgia has left the Australians at long odds of qualifying. The equation has been simplified: they need to defeat Portugal on Monday (AEDT) with a bonus point and need Fiji to lose by more than seven to Portugal next week.

Following SA/Tonga.

NB "Tonga" should be pronounced "Tong-a" not "Tong-ga" - there is no hard "g" sound in the Pasifika languages.

If Scotland beat Ireland next weekend by a margin of 21 points or better, AND both teams score four tries to earn a bonus point, all three teams would be level on 15 points.

Such a result would mean Scotland would top the group on points difference and Ireland would finish second courtesy of their better head-to-head record against the Springboks, who would end third.
This is I think what needs to happen next weekend for the Springboks not to qualify.

Might have been more enthralled with that if I'd seen it rather than just listened.

Wales winning 17-7 but Georgia are still well in the game.

And then Georgians foul up a perfectly simple movement straight after they kick off again and Wales score...

Wales 43 Georgia 19.

Wales go on on to quarter finals. Georgia go home but they can do so with some pride.
