Pouring, and will continue until Friday. Very necessary after year(s) of drought.

Hope the rain soaks in, OFSO.

Was a perfect blue-dome day here, now twilight with a pale gold sunset. No clouds at all.

Did nobody else here watch the Red Roses' splendid victory yesterday ? I'm not one for watching sporting events but that one was superb and for once they had worthy opponents. Six victories and three grand slams in a row. Great stuff, ladies.

Morning folks. Sunny and windy. Booked tickets for JNB-DBX-ATH and return this morning. Hate doing these things on line. Always worried I will press the wrong button and end up in Antarctica. Managed to get my favorite seat just behind the very best seat on all flights but Mrs Ex-Ascot is not always next to me.

Just heard that there is another lorry load of thatching grass inbound.

G’day

16°c, The soothsayer is going for 20°c
Scattered.

A normal Sunday in prospect.

I need to drop off my car later, going for fixing the vibration that my man has diagnosed as the flywheel.
Should be nice and expensive.

Clear sky, no wind. A big breakfast, then off to continue stripping all the old vinyl siding off the house, east wall this time.
Roast beef and beer as the reward when it's done.

Ex-A, I'm currently juggling Paris hotel reservation and train tickets for a conference next month. Hotel has doubled in price since last year. Receptionist is talking to the manager to get me a better rate. Then on to RENFEs stupid website for trains....

Good morning all, day started out all blue skies, now we have a bit of cloud. Currently 17C, forecast max 27. Washing on.
Dashed off early for X-ray. in and out in 15 minutes, GP will have results in 4 hours. No complaints about that.
That sounds like a pretty good meal, OFSO.

Still coughing.

I am just waiting for the sun to burn off the light moisture from the grass before I jump on the mower and shorten said grass, the temp is
climbing its way to a predicted 27 c so the removal of the moisture should not take long.

Was supposed to have been sunny ages ago here, cloud/low overcast finally burning off and I think the wind has changed, sun now peeking through.
12.2°C expecting 17°C.

7am, no sign of daylight, heavy rain and forecast indicates will continue for 48 hours non-stop. I'm hoping for 50% in the reservoirs by next week instead of 11%.

Morning folks. Sunny. The thatchers are here. Chaos for at least three weeks. Last time they did it inside the house was a big mess. They are putting up plastic this time to catch most of it. We will see.

17°c, The soothsayer is going for 20°c again.
Scattered.

There is a forecast of big showers and tormentas, currently nowt on El Radar.

Monday, car in hangar, Gardner here weeding at present.

The birds in the cooker extractor are making quite a noise preparing to fly.
Should be any day.

It's hard to find a big organisation that actually has a back up for anything these days.
All the big shops shut down here if there's an internet failure. They could take cash instead of cards, but management won't let them sell anything because the electronic inventory system wouldn't be usable.
Fortunately, we still have halfway decent local shops (for local people ;))) ) that will sell.

Had a BIG hailstorm at lunchtime, clouds bumping into each other, sparks flying and heavy hail.

Driving El Toyota around I realised that Left rear was quite low pressure, found a wind machine which charged a euro, it's new, used to be a freebe.
Thing is it only took cards. Shape of things coming I suppose.

Yes, the filling stations and supermarkets charge for them now in the UK - least all the ones I use do. I suppose to be fair, they have to be maintained, but it's a recent development for sure.

Some years ago I owned a lefthanddrive vehicle (I was an overseas resident at the time).
As I tried to drive onto the ferry from Esbjerg (Denmark) to Harwich the clutch cable snapped.
On arrival in Britain, I drove to London and made my way to the main dealer to buy a clutch cable.
On arrival, there was a powercut and I was denied the clutch cable, despite me offering to 'overpay' in cash.
As a lefthanddrive clutch cable (which they had already produced) was only available from the main dealer, I was frustrated and had to sit and wait until the power came back on.
