Talking to an acquaintance this morning. Laws in the UK brought in to protect tenants in the house they own have made it uneconomic to be a landlord any more. So much paperwork.
Hence selling up and buying a holiday flat to rent out to tourists in Spain. No new licences being issued in our part of Spain but this flat comes with a transferrable certificate. Provided most of the income is declared to the Agència Tributaria you can get away with a few cash lets each year. Tax office doesn't want to kill the goose laying golden eggs, and Spain doesn't have anything apart from tourism.

A Leonardo AW139 is flying search patterns out in the Bay of Roses. I note from the media that the police are "unable to locate" the fugitive Catalan politician Carles Puigdemont who is expected to re-enter Spain Any Time Real Soon and take up the Presidential Throne of Catalunia. Perhaps he'll be dropped off by submarine on the beach of Empuriabrava.

The young man got into the water with two other friends in the early hours of the morning and did not come out again

Three young people of French nationality were partying tonight on the seafront of Roses, specifically on the beach of Les Botxes, around the Cafè Si Us Plau. And they decided to end the party early in the morning by taking a bath. Once in the water, two of them began to feel unwell. One had to be rescued by a boat that was passing through the area at the time, but the other, despite the efforts of the third friend to find him, has not appeared.

And the boat that rescued the young man was the one that alerted, at 6:51 a.m., the Fire Department of the Generalitat, who alerted the Local Police of Roses and the Mossos d'Esquadra, as well as the the Civil Guard, who have set up, on Les Botxes beach itself, a large search device for the young man.

Two helicopters, one from the Maritime Rescue and the Fire Department, two boats from the Maritime Rescue, the Fire Department and the Group of Specialists in Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Civil Guard have been searching for the young man all morning without, for now, results positive

The cattle have been released from the barns where they've spent the winter. They were so excited at first but it is quite chilly and its been drizzling on and off all day and, just to make the picture complete, the haar has clamped down this evening.

^ the cows would enjoy their first taste of greens and the chance to kick their heels up a bit. They're outdoors all year round here, unless there are some very specialised enterprises of which I know little.

This morning is clear and cold, was -0.8°C earlier but a breeze has sprung up with the sunrise and it's now 1.5°C above.
Was out last evening and left the car parked in the driveway, it's rimed over with frost as are the house rooveses all around.
Keeping an eye out for icy footpaths as I go for my morning walkies, would not want to start a move I could not finish.

Yes, I noticed that 'your' flight had to head back to ABZ after a few attempts today.

Shortly after take off from ABZ on Saturday the pilot announced that he was going to try to get into KOI but that it was possible that he might have to return to ABZ. Fortunately he managed to get us into KOI.

It was 21.7C today at home some 20 miles SW of Aberdeen. That's what counts as a heatwave in these parts.

It seems that we are stuck in a cycle of showers interspersed with heavy rain, this has been the weather for the last couple of weeks.
The entrails reader has guessed that this will continue for 3 or 4 more days, and looking at the weather map he may be right.

A clear dawn and 16° in upper Iberia. 24° forecast by midday. For second night running, only one (1) visit to the wc. Most welcome.

All the best, Hydromet, had been wondering how things were with you.
Take it easy.

G’day

19°c, The soothsayer is going for 24°c again.
High thin haze again.

The Plum tree is in fact an Apricot it seems, still got hundreds of fruit.

Off to the hell of AGP shortly, the bi-monthly trip for eye drops fabricated from SM’s blood.

Is Friday
