What's missing from a large number of bikes around here is bloody lights, front and back.

They seem to think cycling along at night in black/grey clothing with NO lights or reflectors
is fine to do and they will be OK.

FFS, it's not like these things are expensive, dx.com and ebay has heaps of GOOD lights and
reflectors for your legs for $1 to $5. I know as I have purchased them.

Rant over X(

The remaining bikes, that have lights, have ones so bright as to dazzle a driver, from both front and rear.

Hordes of cyclists use our narrow country lane for recreation and a very small minority insist on riding two abreast and not going single file when I approach in the car. One of those gave me the V sign the other day, God knows why. Sometimes I think John Wayne has the right idea.... :))

I have seen that. Often the front one is flashing as well.

Interestingly, SOME sensible riders have two 5 LED lights on the back with both set differently,
One flashing on off, the other in a running sequence. It works well. I have 2 in the car as they make
Good ' emergency' warning lights but are small enough to keep in the glove box.

I"m one of the lycra-clad loonies. (No 500N, I don't wear my pink tutu whilst cycling.)

Anyone who rides in the pitch-black darkness is most assuredly a lunatic. Lights or no lights.

This is my bike:

I took the training wheels off a week ago, finally. :))

Bike is all aluminum except for the fork and seat stays which are titanium. Entire frame weighs a whopping 12lbs.

You better be prepared to put some skids on those wheels, boy, 'cause when we unleash the snow blower, you'll need them.

For now Dushan, for now. But once I relocate to South Carolina, hopefully in the not too distant future, your snow-making and snow-blowing machines won't be able to reach me! Haaaahaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaaa. :)) =))

There is a difference between cyclists and Lycra Looneys or MAMILS.

Cyclists are using pedal powered vehicles to go somewhere for a purpose.

The Lycra clad types are simply on a mission.

I only have the right pedals, and many spares. How many would you like?

Dushan:

A pox on you for posting a photo of snow accumulating on a beach and on palm trees. It just ain't right. :))

As for the missing pedal: Real Road Bikes don't come with pedals. They are "sold separately". :)) :))

I thought it was to stop people nicking your bike.

A bit like Mr. Bean taking the steering wheel off his mini. ;)
