Re: What Song Is Your Current Soundtrack?
I took the above to be sort of a hint.
So I dredged in my memory of voices that gripped me in the past.
1966 in Greece, Maria Farantouri, who at that time was in exile in France with Theodorakis because of the military junta. I heard the record in someone's house in Greece. I don't speak Greek but her voice....., I can still feel the hairs on the back of my neck bristle, a resonant, mature woman's voice, strong and I can hear every word.
A year or two later a French cabaret artist Barbara, again although she was youngish, a mature woman's voice and I could understand the words. Look for her song Soleil Noir.
If it was a hint, I'm sorry but those "little-girly-breathy" voices leave me cold.

Re: What Song Is Your Current Soundtrack?
I'm sure I wrote a reply but it seems to have vanished.
From the above track you can hear how Greece is as much a part of the Middle East as of Europe. The sounds in the intro could as easily be followed by Turkish or Syrian words (I'd never voice that opinion in Greece mind you).
Although MF is in her 70s she can still hold an audience gripped in a big venue.
What do YOU think of her voice? I'd be really intrigued to know your opinion (being of a younger generation than me).

Yes, I like Maria Farantouri's rich mellow tones.
I found the breathy, whispery tones of CLANN's I Hold You go perfectly with the tender, healing words.
I know what you mean, though, I don't usually care for synthetic-sounding childish voices in singing by adults, male or female.

Re: What Song Is Your Current Soundtrack?
Hmm. It is a YouTube video so you need a programme that will copy the soundtrack of a YouTube video. I'll have a go at producing an MP3 track of it for you and we can go from there.
