Tango 15 - the Sunset bar is still going strong :D

Strewth. Most of the bars in Cairns, I'd say :D
The pub in Karumbah was a challenge. There was the Animal bar but if you wanted a chair, Suave Bar.

The Nippon Inn in Broome was fun. The Roey? Well, you needed some fighting skills. :D
Now, Kununurra? Ooof... I tended to drink in the Tavern but there were rougher pubs there for sure.

As I recall the Barrier Reef hotel was going through somewhat of a low stage in 1969.

Another pub where the entertainment was free was the Wyndam Town Hotel WA , Friday nights at about 10 it got a little heated when the local Aboriginals
and the Meat workers from the abattoir would see how many heads they could crack open. The coppers would attend and just stand back and watch,
and when it had subsided a bit, would pick them up and throw them in the paddy wagon for a restful night in the cells.
Just had a look on Google Earth and saw that the pub has been permanently closed.

The old 'long bar' in the old Chevron hotel. Out the back doorled to a demoltion ground, and you could pretty much buy anything there.

I once obsered a guy looking to buy a bird....15 mins later a local returns with an exotic parrot for sale.
