I would go for Hydromet suggestion about local beer with the addition it is a good way to taste something local not easily found in our usual abode.

We are well prepared for any shortages in the Royal Borough https://www.webrew.co.uk/ :D
When all else fails, read the instructions.

We drink Black Label. We have a new micro brewery now in town: https://okavangocraftbrewery.com/ but very expensive and we don't like them. The stout is OK but not great. The whole concept is linked environmentally if you are bothered to read it. But still not paying that much for a beer.

When I was a teenager, our local breweries were Scottish and Newcastle and Vaux.
And McEwans - 80 Shilling etc, surely?

The Errington is now solely a 'Coffeehouse'.

Coffee is great when beer isn't an option.

It may shock you all to learn, but I decided long ago that all beer tasted foul and never bothered with it again. It was explained to me that the normal route to start beer drinking was to have one with your mates, you'd take a sip and decide it was foul, but as no one else objected, even if they thought the same, you kept going. After a few pints, you acquired the taste. I never did, I'm afraid I decided it was foul and I wasn't going to bother.

My sister (with a degree from a UK university) doesn't like beer either. I consider it as a good drink for a low-cost night out and always prefer a draft lager over bottled product.
