Afternoon folks. Sunny and warm. Told the thatchers not to put the bundles of grass on the garden each side of the steps going down to the library. They have now put them on the steps and are walking on the garden. They finish tomorrow.

Roadcones and speed-limit signs cluttering up my street and some kind of earthworks taking place further along t'road.
I need to go hunting and gathering at the supermarket later.

A fairly restless night here and maybe it is due to the heat making the general use duvet too hot or maybe my headache had a role on it.
A full washing machine load is underway. Realising that I have no longer a night tariff it makes easier the use of appliances.

Prepared a catalogue with photos of all the unsold pieces I've accumulated over the years. Some are pieces that were returned from galleries when covid hit, others were pieces that I've made for exhibitions or fun and never got around to selling. Then did a mail out to all my customers, and a series of posts to my facebook page. I now have to remember how to re-build my web site. It's so long since I did it I've completely forgotten, but I seem to remember that it wasn't too hard.
Cool but sunny here today, so I went for a nice midday walk.

I'm sure we would enjoy seeing more examples of your creativity and handiwork.

Afternoon folks. Thatching finished. Nearly a month. Looks good. Nice guys. We can sell back the unused grass but the estimate for the bundles was pretty accurate.

We can hear lions. Night guard out front so if they just want a snack we should be OK.

Good morning.
The Face at the Window across the street has reappeared occasionally over the past couple of days, having his smoke or whatever that is. Why he doesn't just step onto his terrace or driveway I do not know.
Overcast, 6.1°C expecting 11°C they say, 89% humidity now; Mr Sun expected to make an appearance.
Observed some little Waxeyes or Silvereyes as they are also known, in the neighbour's camellias and currant bush: a sign of colder weather as they are not usually around here in summer.
Used to make "bird puddings" with fat, crumbs, bits of fruit etc when I lived in the country and it was a sight on a cold morning to see dozens of these little birds crawling over it, snapping up morsels - and expending a lot of energy flying up in the air and bickering with each other
The Moon will be Full at 1:53am NZST on May 24th, 13:53 UTC on the 23rd.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
I put out stuff for the birds - fat mixed in with porridge oats and whatever else is surplus. The starlings spent most of their time squabbling whilst the smaller birds - robins, sparrows, etc - nip in and eat their fill. There are blackbirds but they seem quite shy and reticent to approach. The fuschia bushes are now over 9 ft tall and hold several nests; it will have to be trimmed back in the autumn otherwise any gales will rock the bushes out by their roots.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
A big bright blue dome, the shortening of the days, all accompanied by a drop in temperature signifies that winter in this part of the globe
is upon us once again, the approach of winter is not a bad thing as it is easier to keep warm than to stay cool during the sweaty days of summer.
I wonder if I will still agree come the changing of the seasons in August when the August winds start, my reason being that the August winds are
a lazy wind, in that they go through you and not around.

Good morning all, clear blue skies here again. Currently 13C, forecast max 20C.
Thanks for your interest in my work. All I want to do with the web site is change some of the text on the home page, and alter the 'For Sale' page. In theory this shouldn't be too hard - I've done it before and have all the instructions - it's just a matter of getting my head around it. In the mean time, you can check out some of my older work at www.springall-fine-woodwork.com and the stuff that's currently up for sale at the FB page of the same name.
