Morning folks. Yes we just lockup and leave the place on Amorgos. It is supposed to be checked on every month but I doubt if it is. 4 years now and it will be fine. If we just left this place for a week everything would disappear. I mean doors, windows, bathroom fittings, thatch the works. We have seen it many times. It becomes a free builders merchants. There is an old safari camp up river where there is hardly a brick left.

Nice day.

House survival: during our Christmas vacation, 15 metres of guttering came off the upper terrace in strong wind. Luckily new ones had been ordered. Main things are to turn off the water, unplug electrickery devices that use power (although leaving light on timers and tv simulator on). Squatters are a big problem here. Never ever call police if you find them in house, as police enforce squatters "rights".

'Morning All,

12c up from 9c overnight, just about broken from overcast.
Looking like a wet night tomorrow night.

Normal Sunday - floors, ritual, dunno what will be allocated, return of the GP at 16.00.

Bloody jungle drums. Why do they need drums for a church service? Heathens.

Full sharpening and honing of a dozen chisels today. tomorrow, the same for four or five planes.
Warm here. 2230 hrs, 23C and 74% relative humidity. Forecast for here tomorrow 38C. Mrs Hydro has decided that she will be baking a cake. (Shakes head in confoundment).

Air conditioner will be working overtime.

Lazy day today and back to feeling almost human again. Had a banging migraine for most of yesterday - now gone TF.

Warming up already here. About to hang the washing out. It will probably be dry in half an hour.

Whereas we (in Britain) are in for seriously cold weather.
“Very cold air will spread across the UK from late on Sunday through early next week. This brings with it snow even to low levels in the north and east through Monday and Tuesday, and in excess of 10cm could accumulate, most likely on high ground in the north, but also settling for a time at lower levels.
“With freezing overnight temperatures and the risk of ice, there’s a risk of some travel disruption and wintry hazards are likely to persist through much of next week, even further south for a time, so keep an eye on the Met Office forecast for the latest information.”

18°C, blue skies and sunny with some cumulus humilis; looks like fresh snow on the tops after yesterday's downpour; the wolves fantails must have come down from the hills early, heard one cheeping nearby. -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_fantail - song at link under "Breeding".

Washing drying outside; all windows open.

Sun noticeably lower in the sky these days and later sunrise/earlier sunsets.
Daylight Saving here ends April 2nd this year.

Productive weekend. Amazon obligingly delivered the new dog crate at 8am Saturday morning, so I was able to go swap it for one of the ones installed in the van (new one is heavy-duty, same as one of the van ones, so now they both are). Had to take both crates out due to geometry of it all, to be able to do the swap, but managed to achieve all of that before it started raining. Then I decided judicious use of cable ties to try to stop things rattling - will find out how successful that is next weekend.

Then this morning, I found the tuit that let me go fix the broken fence panel. Did a fair bit before it started raining just before lunch, then finished it off a few hours later. I may need to go back and fit another piece of wood, but first I need to go buy said piece. It should stand up to a fair bit of weather, and it stops the dogs being able to get from the driveway into next door's garden.

If you have any extra tiuts that you aren't using, I certainly need a bunch.

Morning all. Chilly again but getting warmer this week, while we are absent. I see we've two cold days in the UK awaiting us but then milder by Saturday. Takes of heavy snow falls in the South are total fantasy.

Morning. Tis 11c presently and partly cloudy. A high of 19c thought possible. Rain is suggested as likely overnight tonight.

6:22 pm, 35C outside.
Sharpened 5 planes. The workshop is the coolest spot here that isn't air conditioned, so wasn't too bad. Aircon is on in the rest of the house.

Morning folks nice day. 21C at dawn and rising. Mammoth watering. In fact the idiot has just watered us. Housekeeper's birthday today. 42. She has goodness knows how many children and at least three grand children! Will give her a bottle of beer when she leaves.

We do not do air-conditioning even in the cars. Had it taken out of the house. Not good for you. Drink cold beer and sit in the pool.

Back from gym. Time passed quickly during boring routine watching lady in ski tight fluorescent pink outfit doing lifts. Breasts too big for my taste but Capt Slasher would have had a fit of the vapours. Monkey Girl and her friend Little Miss Transition have stopped going. Lurch, who judging from the scars had a new brain fitted, is doing well. Apart from YT most of us running as if on rails... (OK, confession. I did sing "Gaudete" - Steeleye Span - while doing my fast uphill walk today.)

Frequent snow showers here but it's +4C so nothing settling. Day one of five for ensuite shower room remodelling. Plumber, electrician and joiner seem to be working hard by the sounds of demolition of tiled walls etc etc.

Today's horoscope for me, Capricorn, says (and I'm not making this up) "you will have the sun in Uranus". A new reason for that 'burning sensation'.
