Warning for snow unjustified. Dry out. Wind dropping. Friends two hours away up in the mountains said it's a hell of wind and snow up there, their words.

Morning folks. Another nice day, not a cloud in sight. We have had over our rain ration for the year so not complaining. Got an English friend from Amorgos visiting in 3 weeks hope that it is nice weather for her. I have told her that it could rain. Up until 1st April it is low season. Not only do we get low season rates at the camps but there is no single supplement for her. With our tour operator rates and our 5% discount she gets a massive luxury chalet and bed all inclusive for just 800 quid a night. Believe me that is very cheap. With luck we may get the flights free. We will see. If not it will be staff rates.

See a Lance Corporal is facing Colchester for being dead drunk and running his hand down a girl's back and squeezing her bum. FFS. Who on earth approved that charge? I would have just thrown it out with 2 weeks of orderly corporal. Bloody hell, we had a F/O on 10 Sqn who at dinning in nights used to bite girl's bums. Did it to Mrs Ex-Ascot once, she just demanded a beer..

Our pythons were under suspicion of scoffing next door's cats. They had gone. They are now back. Good as they go on holiday this afternoon.

G'day,

still blue dome annd almost calm, just 13c attained. Seaweed 18c, that'll be about 15 up here.

One of my regrets not seeing the lights, even went on a couple of light spotting flights as spanner, nada.

Apparently the aurora was visible locally down here on the SE as well. Sadly missed by me as I was in the arms of Morpheus, or rather in my bed with my better half and Larold (cross between Harold and Larry) the toy lamb, who has become a feature on our duvet.

I have only seen the aurora once, from the jump seat of a 747 off the coast of Newfoundland. An amazing spectacle! I will keep a lookout tonight.
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.

Woody-those are spectacular pictures. I saw the "lights" once flying over Canada. Not nearly as fantastic as these pictures, but seen nonetheless. Speaking of sightings-also saw the space shuttle re-enter. Currently, I am obsessed with watching the ISS pass over. It goes over chez Limey about twice a month. Never gets old.

Enjoying very nice spring-like weather here. After the hard freeze we had, things are beginning to recover. I left everything alone and waited to see what survived-more than I was expecting.

Seriously? Probably an attitude popular in the 1950s. Fortunately, us "girlies" don't have to put up with that crap anymore. [-X

I've been fortunate enough to see the lights each time I've been to Canada. Returning from one trip to Cold Lake I was in the cockpit and the lights were all around us in whichever direction you looked. It was like being in the middle of a multi coloured halo hundreds of miles wide.

Having flogged across the pond many times I have seen it often. When I wasn't asleep. :| (-|

A very frustrating time in Francistown. Our friend's mother in ICU is up and down like a whore's drawers on boat night. Nursie thinks a complete mismanagement. She needs to go to S.A.

Received the following shots from a friend in Switzerland of a local festival that was held in at Schaffhausen on Rhine yesterday. The falls having been the topic of a beautiful Turner painting.

I still maintain that the Swiss are an odd bunch...

Further to the previous dog picture, before doing anything to resolve the problem, I did have to take pictures.

Yellow alert for snow here, until 10:00 Tuesday, broadcast an hour ago. I've just taken the days garbage out. 4° and windy. Tiny particles falling.

What a very pleasant autumn day, all windows open all day, temp. 8°C to 22°C and still 21°C.
Mostly blue dome skies.
Observed two high-school-age lads, picking bits off a shrub on my street-frontage as they passed by and then bits off the neighbour's shrubbery as well. Strange.
