It is very difficult for any of us to a) work out what his problem is and b)what we can do to help. Basically it would be to lend a listening ear while he tries to sort out(ideally with professional help) where he is and where he needs/wants to go. I thought at one stage (end of last year??) that he was going down the counselling route but that seemed to dissolve fairly quickly. Maybe understanding rather than discipline is about as much as we can supply at a distance.

I suspect PTSD as a result of his service in the South African Army, sometimes exacerbated or given free rein by alcohol. He has recounted some horrendous experiences from those days.

Well, om, you could always storm out for the third time. Probably more dramatic exits than the Prima Donna.

..and I will say that anyone's problems are of concern to me.
