They don’t make household appliances to last nowadays. Our Sebo X4 vacuum cleaner died with a loud bang and burning smell today after only 16 years…..

Presently in Young NSW after a 390 klm drive this morning,it's a journey I make most years to purchase cherries for the Christmas festivities.Young proclaims
itself to be the Cherry Capital of Australia (https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/c ... area/young ) and buying from the grower is lot
better and a lot cheaper especially this year due to Covid locking out most of the oversea students, backpackers whom the grower use to pick same, this has
led to a shortage of fruit and consequently a price rise.I managed 3 x 5kg boxes of 28mm size for $8/kg, so happy happy.

15kg of cherries is a lot of cherry. I assume you like them.
5°C heading for 11°C. Mostly cloudy with sunny intervals.
Another early morning trip to the City hospital with Billy. Got a phone call on
Tuesday as Billy not functioning as he should. Docs think it is down to too much anti-rejection drugs,
so dosage reduced and back for more blood letting. Not too worried - been here before.

^ good luck, handsfree.
Cherries not quite ready here, bob2s; will be $15.00/kg for Christmas I expect and possibly not the 28mm grade.
Hoping the rain lately will be good for the peas, raspberries and strawberries by the end of next week.

On the Southwestern train into Waterloo on Tuesday I was absently-minded gazing out of the window when I was amazed as we were passed by a thundering steam engine hauling a string of old chocolate-brown carriages with happy diners in the restaurant car. For a moment I thought a time warp had taken me. The Steam Dreams Company explains all.

There are numerous steam hauled specials on the mainline at the moment OFSO.
I am aware of several preserved steam locos out and about on the network prior to Christmas.
Here is the December listing:

Good morning folks. Good news HF. Glad you had a good day GG.
Town day today. Did the normal shopping but will have to go back Monday for department of immigration so left a few extra things for then.
Most odd in the booze shop. OK they were very quiet but everyone wanted to help me. Push the trolley get things off the shelves for me even push the trolley to our car. Security guard helped with the check out so we didn't have to go through the security check at the door. They are always very helpful though and know what we buy. A couple of weeks ago one assistant said that I had forgotten the wine.
6mm of rain yesterday pissing it down now huge thunderstorm. They said no rain in town yesterday and it wasn't raining today. Time to start our summer seed planting. 13,26 L and my resident meteorologist who braved the rain says another 5mm already.

My uncle's refrigerator was purchased from the Gas Showroom in New Mills, Derbyshire in the 1950s and, after moves to Anglesey and Bedford, was still working when he died in 1998. It was checked every year by the gas board fitters who always remarked on how well-made it was.TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:36 pmClearly not a 1950's machine...CharlieOneSix wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:32 pmThey don’t make household appliances to last nowadays. Was it a gas-powered 'fridge?
Our first 'fridge (in 1971) was gas-powered - then we moved to a village without gas!

Very odd ribrash.
