Morning folks. A bit dull out outside but at least Ms Warmfronts is advising that it may be dry today in the east. On a course today at me canal for operating big boys' toys so we can get on with the lock restoration.

Thank you Mr Ex-A ........ I'm glad I'm not the only one who has brain farts. :-BD

Monday!!
That snook up craftily.

Looks like we're going to have a dry day as well but it's quite dull out there.

A bit earlier than usual (midnight-ish) - one needs to catch up eventually :).

And morning, of course, a good one!

Greetings,
Even cooler, 15 and heavy, heavy rain. Not had the promised Tormentas yet.
Need to go to the hell that is Nerja this morning, to settle my account with the Apartment block administrators prior to Thursday, And right next door, fortuitously, see la Gestoria as I have asked her to check out the legality of a car for me (a sort of HPI check for those in the U.K.)
Spain is different in that the car not the owner carries the fines, debts etc. so one needs care on the second hand market.
The afternoon will possibly be paint touch up at the apartment for the recent scuff marks where the clock fell off the wall yesterday, “I was only dusting it” she said.

Goodness it's raining now !

Still raining. Two very annoyed cats. They usually sleep on the porch when it's dry and last night the rain was blowing in under the roof. They slept in the house all night-what a hard life they lead 8-|

Nice day here, but not much going on.

In the true traditions of this thread I can report I went to the library this morning and discovered it opens an hour later on Mondays.

Went to the office this morning at http://www.safaris.discoveringbotswana.com/old-bridge-backpackers . Set up the laptop on the bar. Huge problems with power no Internet so started to work off line. No ice, warm cider. There was a bit of a burning smell. Then I noticed out of the cornier of my eye that the public loos missing. Then I noticed half the camp was missing. OK call me observant. :-\ Massive fire yesterday evening. All wood and thatch. Only eight visitors fortunately. The bar roof started to burn but they put that out ^:)^ The fire was so fierce that the loos and wash basins just exploded. Also some bright person (I was going to say 'spark') thought to throw the gas bottles into the swimming pool. The owner is in the UK on holiday. Fortunately he is on his way back now so it didn't ruin his holiday, just his homecoming :-o

Oh my goodness ExA - pleased to hear everyone is ok.

Interrupted sleep last night owing to shiny sleeping bag sliding off Thermarest - never had that happen before.

Cracking weather for this morning's dog walk in the fields and woods: clear blue skies and crisp temps. I'm always impressed by the dogs' retrieving skills. Three balls thrown into undergrowth, wait 2/3 minutes and, when instructed, they fetch balls in precise order. The small spaniel, who suffers from terminal cuteness, picks up game birds almost as big as she is. Having walked off yesterday's feasting there is now room for a pub lunch! :)

Brain fart. Opening herb and spice packets to put in the kitchen jars, I picked up the chilli powder jar (empty) to check it had been washed, stuck my nose in to take a sniff. NOT empty. The sneezing has now diminished. #-o

Just returned from annual hearing check up.

Port ear 'ole a further 2% loss from last year, starboard no change.

New starboard device ordered, to match the unused port side one from last year.

Should arrive next week, and then I'll be operating fully in stereo again.

It's hissing down here and blowing a hoolie. The road outside our building has flooded (as per) so we will be wading to our cars tonight. The drainage on this street is pants. :(

What a glorious day it has turned out to be. Brilliant and warm sunshine all day in the Vale of Belvoir. Lunch and plenty of tea breaks taken in the open air - I think I shall sleep well tonight. Now officially allowed to use abrasive wheels and associated tools on't canal restoration project.

Goodness me 4mastacker, you've gone up to the big school already.
It was a fabulous day wasn't it. A little bit marred by attending a funeral but what
a glorious autumn day it turned out to be.

It's a cat day here; just heard that a leopard is nestled up river with cubs! We just hope that the locals don't kill her for killing donkey's and goats that would get run over by cars. But this is Africa. Just seen a Serval in our garden and we think it is resident as we've seen it on our veranda before. :D

Bloody hell Ibbie, will it never end!

It was a lovely day today. According to my ex-RAF meteorologist mate it will be nice and warm in the SE tomorrow but rain will start to encroach.

Lots of roach coaches around here. Glorious sunny day, but think the natives would rather have the rain that Limeygal is getting.
