Sidevalve
Sidevalve
Recognise a few names here.. Hung my nav bag up in 1998 - went to work at Malvern for the final 8 years and found it probably the most rewarding* experience of my working life.
* Not talking about £££s.
Finally retired in 2006 and we moved to SW France in 2007 (& happy comme un cochon dans la merde!). I voted Leave. I read the Guardian (but not a Leftie!) - but then I read all the others too.
I sing in a choir and am active in an association that commemorates a WWII network that repatriated shot-down Allied airmen. Met some truly great people connected with that.
I took up rowing again here - first on the Adour - and then on the Nive with another club - but I reluctantly had to give it up about 3 years ago when I could no longer get out of the boat unaided.. I loved that second club - they were like family..
I used to be into classic bikes too - this was my last one.. (sold it prior to coming here - & regret that on a daily basis!)
Looking forward to scanning the boards here!
Regards
SV

Hi Sidevalve,
Nice to see you again, we had some correspondence some years back regarding one of the escapees that you needed information on if you remember? Welcome to the club.

Welcome, had a presentation at our historical society in the escape lines and illustrated with illicit photos. Fascinating.

Re: Sidevalve
Welcome to both you and Sabo. I try to maintain order here, with minimal success. They're an unruly crowd.
"Hanging up Nav bag" would suggest ex-member of Aunty Bettty's Flying Circus. There're a awfully lot of us here from the Mob, but we try not to let on. Do have another Nav here. He tries to make out he flew with Pontius Pilot/Pilate. Can't be true 'cos I did the pre-flight and never saw him around.

Re: Sidevalve
Welcome from another Guardian (and a hell of a lot of other stuff too!) reader. Enjoy. Decent bunch here.
Re: Sidevalve
Thanks for the welcome. I won't miss the constant drip drip of bile from the vociferous few at TOP.
