2Donkeys
2Donkeys
Good morning. Another new face.
I very occasionally post as 2Donkeys on TOP and slightly more frequently on the FLYER forum. My real name is Nigel Webb and I fly a Lance, N101DW out of Cambridge (or occasionally Cranfield when they can be bothered to open).
Despite holding an ATPL, I fly for fun rather than professionally, and my main interest is in long-distance IFR touring. I have a fair old number of transatlantic crossings under my belt both in my current aircraft and a variety of its predecessors.
I publish only moderately popular videos of my flights on YouTube at https://www.YouTube.com/N101DW

Re: 2Donkeys
Welcome to Ops-normal 2Donk. We're a pretty friendly crowd here.
I suggested ops-normal as our name due to my recollections of being deep in the poo if I failed to report ops normal when overhead my destination strip in PNG when I was flying BN2A's up there. It normally signified to the tower that you were relatively safe after what was regularly a harrowing journey. Flying charters in PNG was not for the faint hearted.
I is Admin when doing admin tasks and Alison when joining in the affray.

G'day 2D. Welcome aboard.
Pretty laid back here. The envelope is reasonably wide and short of posting porn you don't get clobbered and unceremoniously booted out.
If one oversteps the bounds Admin will give you a wack over the earhole. Don't worry about Alisoncc - she's just a nice old lady who thinks she's the boss. Come to think of it I've never seen them talk together. Must be a power play thing.
As an average, member age here I'd say is roughly 55-60. Some younger some older. Ergo this means thankfully no kids nor any Snowflakes but expect lots of posts about geriatric medical problems. I've almost become a bloody hypochondriac because of 'em!
Only two or three members have been permanently booted after lots of warnings. Mainly for being absolute rude SOBs to fellow members. One Flame in particular was arsed out by the boss a while back and it was a real welcome relief.
For mentoring guidance and wisdom for just about anything seek out Caco. He knows sh!t and has an unstinting mastery of the English lingo...despite him being a Seth Effrikan poes...but he's a really really nice poes!

It is really heartening to see these two good guys from the FLYER stable coming here. Both serious pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Long may they abide here.

That reminds me 2D - Boac is our staunchest supporter of Donald Trump here. So please...for Gods sake...don't say anything to him against the Prez!
I on the other hand am a rabid diehard socialist and supporter of Nancy and AOC. Viva la revolucion!

Re: 2Donkeys
Welcome 2Donkeys from myself and Mrs Ex-Ascot. Don't know the Lancer. Just looked it up. Seems to only have one donkey so why do you call yourself two? If I am correct and you say you fly this across the pond you must be absolutely crazy. You will fit in well here.

There you are 2d - QED (and welcome from me).
To endorse Slasher's 'advice' - don't say ANYTHING against that Orange buffoon, raving lunatic, incompetent fool. You'll only upset his adorati here and they'll have to declare an emergency and have Alison put up a wall...................

Obviously the one creating the need for one. And I have to side with BOAC here. The Orange one does a good job against all odds

Re: 2Donkeys
It is a pity that my old nemesis Wilco didn't hang around here. Chuks assured us that Wilco used to run a taco van in Rancho Rucamonga while seeking that next regional flying job. I hear he landed it and that there may be the patter of little feet in his new liitle family, and, no, I am not talking about his pet rat Moonflower, so I wish him the best wherever he is even though he was such a Trumpite.

Re: 2Donkeys
What a welcome! Thank you. Good to see a few names I recognise from both other places. Since I seem to fit the age demographic perfectly, I look forward to fitting into the community.
PS: 2Donkeys arises from my being a serial twin driver when I first joined TOP in around 2001. There is a Baron 58 and a 421C in my past. These days, boring 170L/hr of AVGAS has less of an attraction to it, so the Lance works well for me.
