Nothing seems to have changed in the intervening years!. A friend tells me that he had heated discussions with MoD (PE) during GW 1 when ‘they’ told him that he couldn’t fit 24’ parachute canopies to air drop containers as they were not cleared by PE. It went quiet when he told them he had already dropped a dozen which they were welcome to have for examination….but as they were all dropped behind the lines to grateful SF folk, so they would have to go and get them!

Amazing what can happen when the Ministry doesn't get involved.
I was on the Tornado F3 medical course at North Luff when the topic of contact lenses came up.
"Not approved for fast jets, no ejection seat trials" said the doc.
"I banged out last year wearing them" said The Man At The Back.
"Any probs?"
"Nope"
They were approved 2 months later.
