Good Photography
I quite liked the Good Photography thread on the other place, but posting a photo was too complicated for the likes of me. Here it seems remarkably easy. Why don't we have a thread where we can admire each other's work.
Here is one of mine. I had to compress it to reduce the file size which has made it a bit fuzzy. Does anyone know the maximum file size please?

Re: Good Photography
Well that didn't work did it? Wonder what I did wrong.
Re: Good Photography
I have tried dragging photos across from the desktop but the size is too big, if I put the same photo onto phobucket and then post it the photo size is ok ? you can copy and paste a photo from the internet and it works ok. Answer is to keep playing and keep posting
Re: Good Photography
OM, this file is 228Kb and 800x600 px and I just dragged it across, then selected display inline.

Re: Good Photography
Must be finger trouble at my end, if I try and drag across I get " ERROR" File to large, if I go via photobucket the same photo goes on ok, I will play with this and try dragging from a lap top

Photo of the wet season "build up" over some wetlands in the Northern Territory.
Not the best photo but good memories.

Re: Good Photography
I don't take a huge number of photos but like to do so to look back at memories I like to think about
or experienced for the first time.
A photo of the monsoon rolling in for the first time that year in the NT and my first experience of seeing it
actually roll in from the horizon until it got to us.
Within 15 minutes, it got very dark, almost night time and we got dumped on big time, rain like I had not often seen before and about a half inch to an inch of water covered most of the ground very quickly.
Thank god it is warm at that time of year !

Re: Good Photography
Last photo I posted via an iPad. This time I am trying a laptop to see if that works better for me.

And now one of Mrs Bull's dog (I refuse to acknowledge any responsibility). Who would have believed that something so cute looking could have such a nasty personality?

Re: Good Photography
Bull - where was the photo in post #11 taken? It reminds me so much of the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. On the southern side of Mull there are quite a few waterfalls like that and when flying past there low level with that kind of cloud base and a southerly gale it was not uncommon to see the waterfalls going up not down!

Charlie, the photo was taken on the Faroe Islands earlier this year. Mrs Bull and I went to see the solar eclipse, but we mainly saw clouds. A spectacular place to visit.
Re: Good Photography
A mate of mine is getting married for the THIRD time and I dunno if the really good professional photographers these days stick to the old film type cameras or do they use digital.
Anyone know?

Re: Good Photography
I think Digital, in Oz anyway.
A client of mine was one, got out after the transition.
I'm more interested in what any photos are printed on.

Re: Good Photography
I'm in charge of getting a photo bloke, but some of them insist on the old film way of doing things and others say digital has more advantages.
I've seen examples of both and they appear very close... but the film photos of weddings seem to have that certain....idunnowhat....over digital ones.
I've been to young and old guys but age doesn't seem to be a factor.

Re: Good Photography
I had this conversation over coffee with a friend just yesterday "film vs memory". How often do you open an old photo album over how often you open a folder to see pictures?
