In between the rain bursts I managed a walk round the lake at Stourhead this afternoon, not the normal autumn quiet, everything was sodden and storm lashed.

Lovely, thanks for sharing

My pleasure, Stourhead is a favourite destination, marred only by the NT rampant drive for money making and customer control, a visit now entails having to sod about scanning membership cards into car park machines and being outnumbered by bossy NT officials, sort of Disney world experience.

Beautiful photo's there, Stourhead has been featured on Gardeners World several times over the last few months with the head gardener showing some of the main features and describing the work involved in maintaining the grounds, even with modern motorised equipment it's still a major undertaking, hardly surprising that so many staff were needed to look after such places in the past.

Beautiful photos om, especially as they have such an autumnal feel to them. Almost make me miss good old Blighty..........but not enough to return in the near future.
