Broadband
After years of 1mb for €74 a month from Moviestar, a G4 router that depends on no tourists hogging the network, tomorrow we get fibre, 300mb plus mobile phone for €35 a month from Girona Fibre. I have drilled the wall already for the optic cable. We shall see.....
Re: Broadband
You'll probably find that their installation rules require them to drill a hole.OFSO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2023 5:27 pmAfter years of 1mb for €74 a month from Moviestar, a G4 router that depends on no tourists hogging the network, tomorrow we get fibre, 300mb plus mobile phone for €35 a month from Girona Fibre. Re: Broadband
Verizon and Cox have each torn up the streets in my neighborhood to thread fiber cable. Verizon also dug up sidewalks to bury boxes to contain nodes.
One of my neighbors had a portion of his yard dug up to accommodate one. Only problem...they went outside of the right of way and he made them dig it up and restore his yard,
I haven't looked at Cox's pricing but if it is anywhere close to the cost of their cable service it will be expensive.

Re: Broadband
Installation rules? What are they? If there is a pre-existing entrance to the house they will use it.
Cables not buried under the ground. Why? Can't. Granite.

Re: Broadband
Three hours to string fibre. Had to go via roof to clear road. Tidy installation and fibre right into house, not last hundred metres copper wire as so often. Broadband not as much as expected on test, but still five times higher than Moviestar. Noticably faster on phone.

Re: Broadband
Working since last night. Wildely differing results from the Speed Test program run on either of the two Redmi phones, the Hauwei tablet or the PC, ranging from 3 to 300Mb. In every case however better than Moviestars pathetic 1Mb. TV reception improved amazingly.
Re: Broadband
Presumably you are quoting wired speed checks and not wireless?
