What do you mean, "go without"? Although I'm an electronics engineer, opening a phone and fitting a LED is beyond me!

In a word - no.
I bought the Redmi 9T a month ago and it is missing the message waiting light we discussed. As I compared the previous model (4X) and the 9 the company uses the entire phone surface as a screen so they new model has much more screen in not a much larger frame.

And since I reread the thread, I am wondering if you can answer a call from the Mi Band 4 when you are using a cable headset rather than a bluetooth one?

I do not receive calls on my Band....

I notice that both my wife's Huawei and my Redmi no longer connect to my PC. They don't bring up the Charge/Transfer Files? screen on the phone and don't bring up the Open Drive? screen on the PC. As my PC has updates blocked, this must be a change to the phones OS.

I thought you mentioned at another thread that it was convenient to answer a call or read a message without removing the phone from your pocket. So answer maybe the wrong notion but is it possible to answer a call and talk/listen through a handsfree (not our member)? The band shows usually who calls me and an red handset to reject the call but it is possible to take it and talk via a wired/blue tooth headset?

I usually connect via a cable or blue tooth, or for pictures via the Xiaomi cloud. What have I missed so far?

My 4 does show messages from SMS, WA and the like. I frequently receive on the wrist band PINs via SMS to open a computer file and that's very useful. I so rarely receive a phone voice call I don't know whether the 4 shows number calling or not!

OK I spoke with a salesperson on the store I bought my first band4. He told me it is not possible to answer a call using the band only to reject one. So PHXPhlyer you are right about your point
