Another thing from 1981
The day QANTAS 747-SP 'City of Gold Coast' visited the 'Gold Coast', I remember seeing it fly down the coast from the garage of 205 Sunshine Boulevard Mermaid waters....big deal back then flew in and out empty on a demo flight

Boarding steps from the starboard side, was there a reason for the change?
Re: Another thing from 1981
It looks like an open day, probably sending the visitors in through the aft left door and out through the front right door, prevents people going round and round again which they could if in and out were on the same side.

Thanks. Yes it makes sense to keep the people moving.

Both Boac, or was it speedy, and self got to visit Pan Ams very first 747 at Hatton Cross in 1969. Actually it was the very first commercial 747 to cross the Atlantic. It was awfully big. Had a guided tour no less.
