You are jumping to the assumption that the body was inside the a/c.

It could have been a stowaway in a u/c bay.

I've looked up the airline, from their website they seem to only operate DC-11F's, in which case the route from Germany to SA, presumably Johannesburg, should have been well within range without re-fuelling. Unless it flew an indirect route, by-passing 'sensitive' countries.

What I am finding to be really strange about this, is that at 18:00 local time, I have not seen any comment on the incident from the SA Reserve Bank of the SA Government.

The silence is deafening.

The SARB has broken their silence:

Question is why are the crew and aircraft not being released? Currency seems to be consigned to to SARB and it's not as if the stowaway was forced into the wheel bay at gunpoint by the crew. I'm guessing the usual African practice of some idiot official with more authority than his little pointed head can safely handle, trying to squeeze a few dollars out of the company and suddenly finding himself out of his depth.
