Re: Write your own Daily Mail aviation incident drama

Plane CRASH!
Thousands not killed!

Apparently 'No-one' was injured (again) . . .
"No-one" seems to be accident-prone.

Re: Desktop Won’t Wake Up

I used to frequent the (only) local computer shop and over the years have bought all my (secondhand) computers from them.
Recently a new 'front of house' chap has been employed and he is not as amenable as the owner.

Re: Desktop Won’t Wake Up

Check 'internal' connections (if you feel happy opening the casing).
If necessary unplug data cables and re-seat.

Anyone have troubleshooting ideas before I have to disconnect everything and take it to the computer repair place ? :-?

Re: Boots and brakes

I am not familiar with aircraft braking, however I had considerable involvement with commercial vehicle braking as a design/development/testing engineer from Maxaret through to full electronic/pneumatic ABS. Whilst Maxaret (as applied to trucks) was a simple (crude?) system compared to later (curren...

Re: New Zealand

Many thanks for that. I used to attend airshows as an amateur photographer (with serious equipment). Highlights were being soaked by the spray from a Harrier at the Sunderland (International!) airshow held on the seafront at Sunderland - my regular position was perched on the seawall. At high tide t...

A shame that they don't get to keep the Mossie that they lovingly restored.

I don't suppose the Yanks will appreciate it for what it truly is.

That was something I found difficult when I was travelling internationally when different countries changed at different times and airlines didn't change at the same time.
