Re: Peregrine falcons at Worcester Cathedral

I am pleased the runt is making it, I was worried about him/her earlier. Still seems to be at the end of the queue for food though. Mrs 1DC's father was a steeplejack at one time in his life and I think his daughter has the genes. She can stand on the edge of a cliff without problem whereas I canno...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI

Morning folks. Sunny. Thatching continues. Only a few days more now. Removed the engine from the ship today. It took four men including a mechanic. Major job. A lot to disconnect. I just hope we can get it back on again if the water ever comes back. I don't think that any of the thieving little blac...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI

Afternoon folks. Sunny. We just give food scraps to the birdies. All vegetarian so they eat the lot. The hornbills are very amusing with spaghetti. They throw the strands into the air and catch them on the way down

Re: FUN chal

We were asked to do a Royal into there. HMQ I think. We said that we couldn't guarantee to get her in on any one specified day. Went by sea in her little yacht. Got out of that one.

Think that he left a bit of rubber on the tarmac.

Morning folks. Peace and quiet. No thatchers and no staff. Sunny. We were hoping for a reduction of squirrels with the new roof. The little buggers seem to like it. There are loads moving in again. Poison down. Safari camp visit at lunchtime.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread

The very distinctive skyline of Lancing College north of Shoreham Airport gave away the location as being the latter - I worked at the airport for a few years. The sculpture is the memorial to those who perished as a result of the Hunter crash at an Air Day a few years ago. OH please if confirmed. ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI

Morning folks. Sunny. Watered loads of goats again this morning. 31 to be precise. That looks very professional Ex-Ascot, I was simply musing as to what the thatch would look like if you had left it up to your employees, came to the conclusion that you would be looking for a new dwelling. They do of...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI

Looks very nice, ex-A. Do the thatchers there not put a small symbol on the top, like they do in the UK? A hippo maybe...? Yes. At some of the luxury camps they sometimes put the name of the camp. I suppose we could have asked. A.M. Most of the original thatch is still beneath it and that didn't le...

Wonder at which point they declared an emergency because the emergency services seemed to take some time. Big airport so maybe some distance to travel.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI

Morning folks. Sunny very cold start. House thatching complete after 13 days of mayhem. 4 guys 11 hours a day. There are bits of grass everywhere you look. Big clear up this afternoon. They have started on the library now. That will be at least six more days but two sides are on the outside of the e...

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Why didn't Ginge and Nutmeg join in with the British National Anthem? OK she probably doesn't know it but what was his excuse? Not wearing his coronation medal and not singing the National Anthem isn't the way forward to building bridges with HMK. Debatable if it should have been played in the first...
