We were asked to do a Royal into there. HMQ I think. We said that we couldn't guarantee to get her in on any one specified day. Went by sea in her little yacht. Got out of that one.

Morning folks. Peace and quiet. No thatchers and no staff. Sunny. We were hoping for a reduction of squirrels with the new roof. The little buggers seem to like it. There are loads moving in again. Poison down. Safari camp visit at lunchtime.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
The very distinctive skyline of Lancing College north of Shoreham Airport gave away the location as being the latter - I worked at the airport for a few years. The sculpture is the memorial to those who perished as a result of the Hunter crash at an Air Day a few years ago. OH please if confirmed. ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
Morning folks. Sunny. Watered loads of goats again this morning. 31 to be precise. That looks very professional Ex-Ascot, I was simply musing as to what the thatch would look like if you had left it up to your employees, came to the conclusion that you would be looking for a new dwelling. They do of...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
Looks very nice, ex-A. Do the thatchers there not put a small symbol on the top, like they do in the UK? A hippo maybe...? Yes. At some of the luxury camps they sometimes put the name of the camp. I suppose we could have asked. A.M. Most of the original thatch is still beneath it and that didn't le...

Wonder at which point they declared an emergency because the emergency services seemed to take some time. Big airport so maybe some distance to travel.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
Morning folks. Sunny very cold start. House thatching complete after 13 days of mayhem. 4 guys 11 hours a day. There are bits of grass everywhere you look. Big clear up this afternoon. They have started on the library now. That will be at least six more days but two sides are on the outside of the e...

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Why didn't Ginge and Nutmeg join in with the British National Anthem? OK she probably doesn't know it but what was his excuse? Not wearing his coronation medal and not singing the National Anthem isn't the way forward to building bridges with HMK. Debatable if it should have been played in the first...

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Cheque was lost in the post =)) Pull the other one. And what about the accounts that were not submitted? Also lost? See Nutmeg was an hour late for one engagement in her 'homeland'. Problems with a dress or something apparently. Clearly nothing like a 'Royal tour' which always run to the second. How...

Well done Mam. Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park - UNESCO World Heritage Centre, St Kitts. Was there in the 80's on a tour on the Caribbean.

Had to check it wasn't 1st April. Didn't say where they landed. Presume you zoom to altitude and then pull the chute?

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
Morning folks. Sunny. Cool start. Surrounded by thatching grass. Just a couple more days on the house then they start on the library. That will not be so disruptive. They are very quiet though and no jungle bunny music.
