One for Woody... Erik ten Hag walks into a bank to cash a cheque. As he approaches the cashier he says, "Good morning, Ms could you please cash this cheque for me?" Cashier:"It would be my pleasure. Could you please show me your ID?" Ten Hag:"Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn't thi...

Re: RFA crew shortage as well as a Rear Admiral shortage....
My classic was having the Weapons (including nuclear) Employment Course, NBC Instructor, and a Physics degree, and I'd done some work at Harwell, but still having to do the one day school radiation source supervisor course. Utter waste of everyone's time. But that's box-ticking (or not) for you! My...

I remember reading about someone who had a maths A-level but for some reason didn't have an O-level in the subject and was turned down for a job.

737 Runway Excursion in Senegal
A Boeing 737-300 aircraft has skidded off a runway in Senegal, injuring at least 10 people, four of them seriously. The incident occurred as Air Senegal flight HC 301 was taking off for the Malian capital Bamako in the early hours of Thursday, Dakar's Blaise Diagne airport said in a statement. The ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Good morning all, grey day with a bit of rain this morning. Currently 12C, forecast max 18C. I may have mentioned this before but I'm sure when I was at school it was "rooves" :-\ but that seems out of favour these days. Indeed, rooves is the plural of roof, staves the plural of staff (as in survey...

Re: New Self-Assessment Tool for American Airlines Pilots
The playback was useful for training new sim instructors, because it enabled the instructor trainer to point out the cues that a crew were approaching their capacity limits. This helped the new instructors learn whether more value would be gained by adding further workload or emergencies, or not. D...

Re: Chaos in USA
FTFY. There's a large amount of evidence, all of which needs further investigation to corroborate, and none of which is being allowed to be investigated further. Same as Bush-Gore 2000. The US election procedures have so many holes in them it's unreal. Essentially, incumbents have no motivation to ...

Re: Chaos in USA
And here's the real kicker. All the above means no-one has any real idea what's going on, or which way things will go in the US Presidential or any other upcoming election. A bit like some of the UK elections where the Tories won despite trailing in the polls. It was put down to the fact that they ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Had a BIG hailstorm at lunchtime, clouds bumping into each other, sparks flying and heavy hail. Driving El Toyota around I realised that Left rear was quite low pressure, found a wind machine which charged a euro, it's new, used to be a freebe. Thing is it only took cards. Shape of things coming I ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
I invested in an electric pump. It uses the same battery packs as a bunch of my other power tools, and I carry it and a pack in the van. The cars have to make do with pumps that plug in the cigar lighter socket, but that's still easier than having to use a footpump.
