Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI

Cool weekend here, struggling to get much above 20C, when it's been over 30C fairly recently. Managed to arrange on Friday that there would be no gardening this weekend, by filling up both green bins - once they're full we tend to stop. Almost finished removing the tree that went down in high winds ...

Re: Won't wear seatbelts..aka Princess Diana Syndrome

I have been on flights where it got a bit bumpy and it was announced that cabin service would be suspended for a bit. Generally, if the flight deck tells the cabin crew to take their seats, you know it's serious.

Firefox on Linux here.

If I right-click on where the image should be on the "Items for sale page" and attempt to open it in a window on its own, it gives me a 403 Forbidden error, so you might have some access permissions wrong.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI

Good morning all, clear blue skies here again. Currently 13C, forecast max 20C. Thanks for your interest in my work. All I want to do with the web site is change some of the text on the home page, and alter the 'For Sale' page. In theory this shouldn't be too hard - I've done it before and have all...

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war

Look! Squirrel! There have been calls for calm in Finland and the Baltic states after a draft Russian decree proposed revising its borders in the Baltic Sea. Latvia said it was trying to clarify the situation, but Lithuania warned that the Kremlin was aiming to intimidate its neighbours with a "deli...

An Alaskan man has been killed by a moose that charged suddenly while he was trying to take photographs of its two calves. Dale Chorman, 70, was caught off guard as the animal attacked on his property in the town of Homer. Mr Chorman died at the scene. His son said he realised the moose was protect...

A union representing Boeing employees held a training session last week on whistleblower protection rights, suggesting the troubled jetmaker's problems may be far from over. The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), which represents workers at Boeing and Boeing spin-of...

Re: Rant of the Day v2.

When we had rodent problems moving in (or returning) to a house, our cats took care of the issue. Probably not such a good solution when there are coyotes to take care of the cats. It would be interesting to see a coyote take on an Australian feral cat. They grow huge, and I've seen one chase a fox...

Almost half of all noise complaints in Australia last year were filed by the same person, who complained 20,716 times He lives under the flightpath for Perth Airport. That's an average of over 56 complaints a day. He must have a decibel meter attached to a computer to auto-generate a complaint if i...
