Re: Not TOO soft, I hope.......
The rain and fog at the crash site is now turning to snow. The aircraft is now reported as not yet found, despite earlier reports that it had been. I do not fancy the chances of anyone surviving unless they were uninjured and could use the wreckage for shelter. At least 3 ministers and the Head of t...

Iran: The President's helicopter is down in fog-covered mountains. No word on his condition, but the IRGC troops are on the streets of Tehran. The report is that the helicopter had a 'hard landing'. However, 'hard landing' is often a euphemism for crash in that part of the World. No evidence that th...

I don't think this would destroy the tank. The main tank armour is quite sufficient to resist anything being exploded above the armour. It would be very loud though! The methods I have seen for destroying such vehicles are: Follow it home with a drone then get heavy artillery on its base. Use one dr...

You do in mine!
I have a woodstove which provides the heat in winter.
However, as I improve the insulation and draughtproofing, I'm finding the woodstove is too warm at the beginning and end of the heating season, so I will be installing a heat pump, probably next week.

Bricking up basement windows is HARD! The stuff for 3 windows weighs a sixth of a ton, you're on your knees or your belly most of the time, and the previous job was a complete horlicks and needed a big clean out. Total pig getting the last brick in, and it was only on reviewing the video done by a p...

If the justice system is ineffective, i.e. not a sufficient deterrent compared to the benefits of crime, then things will continue to get worse. But try telling that to a bunch of former lawyers and finance wizzes-turned-politicians, who fly everywhere on private jets and have zero chance of being c...

The West has been in this "nonsense situation", where the political control forbids the winning of wars, since the Iraq fiasco in 2003.

Of course. Scottsdale was my base, but we bimbled up to northern Arizona also. There were some airports that the Chief Pilot wouldn't let most instructors go to, such as Marble Canyon.

Your knees will thank you, as at your age will your heart. Keeling over whilst shoveling is not uncommon here. The ST224 has everything you need. Wheels are powered so no pushing. Heated handgrips. Lighting is fine for night work, even in blowing snow. Usually starts second pull, but if fuel is a bi...

I have the Husqvarna ST224 mini blower, can highly recommend it for paths, etc. It's 2 foot wide. Can also do the whole driveway, should your local farmer be indisposed. Collecting clippings. It's so windy here that long clippings blow away. I have a sweeper attachment for clearing clippings and lea...

Re: Stiga ride on lawnmower
This was my concern with the advertised power of the Stiga. I have used a blade on a tractor of similar power at my last house, and it is indeed difficult to shift more than a few inches. Fortunately my neighbour had a bigger tractor with a proper blower and was happy to do my driveway also. I now h...
