EFTA worked, still does.
The EU was bound to fail because of its legal authorities on matters other than trade, and the differing attitudes to "following the rules", especially in the Mediterranean countries.

I am not planning on shooting at anything that will shoot back! I can see the merits of the older mil-type rifles, and I note these good very quickly at my nearest gun dealers if in good condition. I appreciate the good value argument does not mean buying cheap. e.g. the Benelli shotgun. Suggestions...
